Welcome

The Georgia Reentry Center is devoted to creating a change in our community by assisting people achieve their highest potential. We do this by offering anger management seminars for businesses, drug and alcohol evaluations (non-dui), drug and alcohol groups, life skills classes, and other groups, seminars, or classes that can assist you wherever you are in your life. We have certified addiction counselors and certified anger management facilitators that can help you.

We also offer continuing education for individuals wishing to gain or re-certify as an Addiction Counselor in the state of Georgia through the Georgia Addiction Counselor's Association (GACA) or nationally through the National Association for Alcohol and Drug Addiction Counselors (NAADAC). Addiction Counselors work with individuals who have alcohol, tobacco, drug, or other problems such as gambling and eating disorders. Addiction Counselors provide education, prevention, intervention, and/or rehabilitative services to individuals, families, and groups in a variety of  settings. We are very excited to offer this service to our students.

This program is offered in a flexible format, with courses available online. Students may enter the program any time and may work at their own pace. Our courses are tailored to meet the growing need for qualified addiction and behavioral health professionals. In 2018, 20.3 million people aged 12 or older had a substance use disorder (SAMSHA, National Survey on Drug Use & Health, 2019). As individuals with substance use disorder continue to increase in the United States the need for treatment services also increases. The U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics projected that the need for substance abuse counselors will increase 22% from 2018 to 2028, which is much faster than the average for all other occupations. Additionally, it is important to recognize that the impact of the continued substance abuse problem in this country is not isolated to the addiction field, but also other helping fields. This supports the demand for well-trained behavioral health professionals in all behavioral health fields. Obtaining the CAC I or CAC II is critical for addiction professionals, and beneficial for other behavioral health professionals in order to enhance your ability to work with individuals struggling with substance use problems.
